KRISP in conjunction with the University Capacity Development Fund (UCDP) are conducting a two-day data carpentry training on the 27th and 28th of September, 2018 in Durban. In this workshop 35 researchers will be equipped with fine skills to perform data organization and analysis.
The training covers critical in data organization using Excel and Open Refine as well as data analysis and visualization using R. Open Refine and R play both support reproducible research.
The carpentries aim at equipping researchers with foundational coding and data science skills. As a leader in research and innovation committed to the advancement of high level science, KRISP has trained its team of senior developers as carpentry instructors equipping them with necessary pedagogical skills to deliver highly technical workshops in an accessible manner to researchers. We believe that this will help expedite the conduct of research, enhance the quality of results and improve the kind of data produced for research.
