Call for Applications: QIAcuity Digital PCR Training - All Expenses Covered!


CERI and QIAGEN are offering a fully funded two-day hands-on training on the QIAcuity Digital PCR system in Cape Town. The workshop focuses on digital PCR applications for pathogen detection and is open to professionals from five African countries.

The Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI), in collaboration with QIAGEN, is pleased to announce a specialised two-day hands-on training on the QIAcuity Digital PCR system workflow, taking place on 11–12 June 2025 at the CERI facility in BMRI, Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa.


About the Training

This programme offers practical skills and core knowledge in digital PCR (dPCR), with a focus on pathogen identification and multiplexing for surveillance. Participants will benefit from:
  • Principles and applications of digital PCR
  • System operation and hands-on laboratory practice
  • Sample preparation, data analysis, and troubleshooting guidance

Funding & Support

Selected applicants will have the following fully covered:
  • Airfare and local ground transportation
  • Accommodation
  • Meals during the training

Who Can Apply?

The opportunity is open to applicants from South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, and Zambia working in the following sectors:
  • National Institutes of Health
  • Clinical research institutions
  • Academic organisations
  • Diagnostic laboratories
  • Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries
