KRISP partner with Thermo Fisher Scientific on an educational program in Africa. As part of this program we organized 5 training workshops on STEM subjects in 2018 and 2019, ranging from PCR, qPCR, DNA sequencing and bioinformatics techniques.
The workshops ranged from RNA/DNA isolation, PCR and Sanger DNA Sequencing techniques. We are planning another 6 workshops in 2019. In total 128 students participate in this round of training.
We have also produced two short videos that shows the state-of-art training and laboratory facilities in Durban, South Africa.- Human Genome, S5Ion Sequencing & Women in Science in Africa
